How to clean up your computer?

As you will now know, in the long run, Windows and all the programs you have installed on your PC generate a large amount of useless temporary files that end up slowing down your computer’s performance. To keep the PC agile, it is therefore necessary to delete these files and carry out constant system maintenance activities.

Today I want to help you in this task by offering you some programs other than the “usual suspects” that will help you recover space on your hard drive and, above all, increase Windows performance by deleting all the useless files on the hard disk. If you want to find out how to clean and speed up your PC, read on and get right to work!

If you have already followed my advice in the past, CCleaner will surely be installed on your PC, one of the best free programs to remove useless files from the hard disk and speed up the system. I therefore want to start this guide on how to clean and speed up the PC by introducing CCEnhancer, a small program that allows CCleaner to be incredibly enhanced and its ability to “clean” the system by adding support to over 500 extra programs.

If you want to try it, immediately connected to its website and click first on the item Download located in the left sidebar and then on the homonymous blue button in the center of the page that opens. Download is complete open, double clicking on it, the CCEnhancer.exe program and, in the window that opens, click on Yes first and then on Download Latest to start updating CCleaner.

When completed, you will be able to start and use CCleaner normally, having options to delete temporary files from many more programs than those initially planned in the software.

Another good program to clean and speed up the PC is Wipe, which was created with the main purpose of erasing all those temporary data that may represent a risk to users’ privacy. It is interesting because it seems that it is able to identify and delete files that CCleaner is not able to delete (at least in its standard configuration).

To try Wipe, connected to the program’s website and click on the item Click here to download setup file to download it to your PC. Download is complete open, double clicking on it, the file you just downloaded (setup_wipe.exe) and, in the window that opens, click first on Run and Yes (to authorize the installation on Windows 7 and Vista) and then on I Agree to complete the installation process. Therefore set the use of the English language by clicking OK and access the main screen of the program by clicking first on No thanks and then Save and No (this will prevent the program from starting automatically on Windows).

Now, all you have to do is start Wipe via its icon on the Windows desktop and click OK to let the program analyze the system to detect installed programs. When the operation is completed (it takes a couple of minutes), put the check mark next to the Delete tracks and polluted areas item and click Continue to “clean” the PC and speed it up.

Finally, here is ClearProg, a small free program running even without installation that allows you to clean and speed up your PC by specifically selecting the programs to eliminate usage traces and temporary files (browser, Windows, Office, etc.). To download it, connect to its Internet site and click on the Download zip item located at the top of the page.
